Today it was quite hot, I'm broke & I needed to get out of the house. Usually going to buy groceries is about as exciting as my life gets, so bare with my over excitement.
I happened to be on Facebook while internally whining about the heat, when I was reminded the Art Museum was free on Sundays. So I "jumped" up & out to that large air conditioned fantasy land, which just happens to be pretty much on the campus of my College Alma Mater.
There are some renovations going on so I knew there would be at least some change to the artwork, but it didn't really matter because there is a big jigsaw puzzle of a watercolor in the third gallery I walked through....and that's where I stayed till closing. I must say it was very interesting to hear people have insanely different ideas about the simplest of imagery. They also tend to see things through 2013 eyes & don't seem to account for cultural context. But hey, I have an art degree, I'm sure I make English majors squirm with my horrible run on sentences.
I didn't finish the puzzle because the museum closed.
I needed a new place to escape to. My mom gave me a Starbucks gift card for my birthday, and I knew a part of town where the ambiance would not give me a headache. Off I went.
I ordered my frozen drink & rice crispy treat (everything else had gluten in it). The girl tripped & my rice crispy treat, turns out the last one, took a dirt dive. During my shell shock I was handed a drink, turns out not my drink. I was disoriented to say the least. They found me a packaged nut bar to eat & let me keep the accidental drink & my chocolate frozen thing. Did I mention I have anxiety? I had no idea what was happening.
I eventually calmed down, and froze into a Mōlcicle because of the arctic air conditioning. My main objective had been achieved & my life enriched.
In memory of my trip to Starbucks, I decided to share my "To Go" coffee cup- washcloth pattern.
Have a good Monday!
